Publication Ethic

SUMAGRIS: Sumatran Journal of Agriculture Science is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity in scientific publishing. This statement is based on the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and applies to all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.

The journal ensures that all submitted manuscripts are evaluated based on their academic merit, originality, and relevance to the scope of agricultural science. Ethical conduct is essential to maintain trust in scientific communication and to promote responsible research practices.

Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must ensure that their work is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere. All sources must be properly cited, and any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of data presented and must not engage in fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of research results.

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the research. All co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript before submission. Any conflicts of interest that could influence the results or interpretation of the manuscript must be clearly disclosed.

Ethical Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on the manuscript’s scholarly merit, without discrimination based on gender, race, institutional affiliation, or nationality. Editors must ensure confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not use unpublished materials for personal research.

In cases of suspected ethical misconduct, editors will follow COPE guidelines to investigate and resolve issues appropriately, including retraction or correction when necessary.

Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively and provide constructive feedback to improve the quality of the work. Reviewers should maintain confidentiality and must not disclose or use any part of the manuscript for personal advantage.

If a reviewer identifies any conflict of interest or similarity with other published work, they must inform the editor immediately and decline the review if necessary.

Publication Integrity and Transparency

SUMAGRIS enforces strict policies against plagiarism, duplicate publication, and unethical research practices. All manuscripts are screened using similarity detection tools prior to review. The journal also encourages authors to provide data availability statements to ensure transparency and reproducibility of research findings.

Corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies will be published when necessary to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

Open Access Policy

SUMAGRIS provides immediate open access to its content, supporting the principle that making research freely available to the public enhances global knowledge exchange and accelerates scientific advancement in agriculture and sustainability.

This publication ethics statement reflects SUMAGRIS commitment to ethical publishing and sustainable scientific development.
